Meet the Artist
My Phuong is very involved in
the evolution of her artwork. From the moment the sculpture
takes shape in the form of clay to the last bronzing process
My Phuong is hands on with every step. Here's how she
does it:
The Artist Sculpts
My Phuong works on "Contentment"
at her studio.
Mold Making
After the sculpting is finished, the
clay sculpture is then taken to a refinery
where specialists create a mold of its
form.
Professor David Elder
Professor David Elder pours the mold.
Wax Casting/Finishing
The original sculpture is then taken
out of the mold and the mold is then
reassembled. My Phuong then pours wax
into the empty space, resulting in the
positive mold.
